Go to your local hardware store and buy some vinyl tubing with an inner diameter of 2cm/20mm. Plug up one end with silicone and let it dry. This is a makeshift test tube.

I would go 15cm for length. The longer it is, the longer the water reservoir will last and Camponotus tends to have a longer brooding time.

I would have it allow some sort of ventilation. Ants don't need a lot of air, but they do need some.
